‘The George Hotel’
Bringing the Coaching Inn
into the 21st Century
An exhibition of photographs, artwork and memorabilia illuminating the chequered history of Bewdley’s well known and much-loved George Hotel.
The display will chart its growth from being owned by a baker in the 17th Century to its modern day reincarnation under Wetherspoons.
This historic building has a fascinating past and has always held a central role in the local community.
Visit the exhibition and find out how it developed with the town, its connection with the Free French Army and where a murderer’s name is still preserved.
